The Driftwood Players are pleased to feature the work of Puget Sound underwater nature-photographer Katrina Kruse. Her naturally colorful works will be displayed in the lobby during the run of Rough Crossing.
Ms. Kruse has been diving since 1991, and has logged over 1050 dives, mostly in Puget Sound.
Her work has been displayed in Seattle (Artemis Gallery, Madison Audio, and Colorgraphics) at Edmonds City Hall, in Coupeville and Kirkland (Photomontage Gallery).
She has some of her pieces in the Immunex corporate art collection. Also, she has received an Artist Trust Gap Grant (2001), and a "Photographer Of Merit" award from the National Wildlife Federation.
She also has appeared in many juried shows, including: Photo-graphic Center Northwest "Beneath the Surface," Arts Festivals in Edmonds (2000,2001,2002), Anacortes, Bellevue, Bothell and Mountlake Terrace.
Her love is the "texture and design" found in nature. She uses a Nikonos V amphibious camera, 28mm lens, Ikelite strobe and 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3 extension tubes. Her slide film is 50 speed in the wild, and the images are not altered.
