During performances of Rehearsal for Murder, The Driftwood Players are pleased to feature the work of artist Kimi Hansen in the lobby of The Wade James Theatre.
I am an acrylic painter living in beautiful Edmonds, WA. My love for art began well before I set foot in Kindergarten. Inspired by a curiosity about my mom’s watercolor class held in our basement, I pleaded with her to give me my first watercolor lessons. To my delight she began teaching me! Throughout school I continued to take art classes in many different forms. My love for acrylic painting developed during an art class at Edmonds Community College, where I completed my AA in Business Accounting.
My current body of work is evolving out of a new found appreciation for abstract and impressionistic styles. I find this be drastically different and incredibly challenging when compared to my typical attention to detail in my more realistic works.
In recent years I have done commissioned work for a variety of clients, each with a unique style and subject. I get inspired talking through projects with customers, bouncing ideas off one another and coming up with something that is both unique and meaningful. If you would like to have a custom painting of your own, I am ready to create a one of a kind piece for you! I enjoy the challenge of a new subject matter, whether it be a beloved instrument or your dream of wrestling a bull.
